The Provincial Marine Amherstburg Re-enactment Unit offers a presentation on
the Battle of Lake Erie 1813 at schools following the grade 7 curriculum on the
War of 1812-1814. The Battle of Lake Erie took place between the British and
the Americans where 6 British ships left Fort Malden Amherstburg and entered
into battle with 9 American ships out in Lake Erie.

STUDENTS LEARN :
• The reasons why this battle took place in Lake Erie
• What happened during this battle between the British and the Americans
• Who won the battle and why

A student booklet is given to the teacher to use with their students later with questions for the students and answers for the teachers. A teacher in period attire   will be using props in his presentation to demonstrate the war of 1813.

Cost is $80.00 to $100.00 per school according to number of students for each one hour presentation.
